Finally a pic of Addi and her grandpa Mick! :)

We had a great time with all the Bowmans at the reunion this weekend and happy 90th birthday to Brendon's grandma, Mabel (on the right). Finally got some pics of Addi with her grandma Linda too, whom she's very taken with. Aren't grandmas the best :) We also got to meet our friends' new little baby Cameron tonight, and boy is he a cutie. Just wishing Jes a bit more sleep in the weeks to come. So many babies, so little time...

So, Addi's now seen most of her grandparents and met LOTS of extended family! We had a great time with Grandma relaxing at home yesterday and at Great-grandma Mabel's 90th birthday celebration and family reunion today. Addi was passed around and played with everyone until she got hungry and tired. Unfortunately we forgot our camera, so we'll have to get pictures with everyone tomorrow to post.

Aside from that, I'd forgotten how freaking hot and humid Kansas can be! Thank god Munich isn't as bad, or we'd really be in trouble without air conditioning. Only other thing I've been doing is taking extreme measures to remove cat pee from our carpet. Our kitties have been very bad while we were away.

Here's a synopsis of my morning:
6 AM- woke up
6:30- walk with Finn and Addi - Finn chases rabbit across road and around the block, not sure if we'll see bunny ever again
7- come home to find more cat pee AND poop in corner of hallway (they seen to think this is an acceptable place to use for a litter box lately) - clean again, rant and rave about bad kitties
7:30 - breakfast
8-9 Wet vac, wet vac, wet vac, blot, blot, blot, sprinkle baking soda carpet deo. down - room smells much better
9:30 - get out cat carriers to take kitties to vet
9:35 - realize cat carriers have broken zippers and, therefore, won't work
9:40 - search around for something else to use
9:45 - yell at Brendon for a little help - am pissed off and not super sympathetic he stayed out too late with the guys at this point
9:50 - hand baby to brendon
9:55 - find big rubbermaid containers with ventilation in garage to use
10:00 - rangle sammy
10:05 - try to rangle tyson, but he makes a mad break for it and I spend the next 10 min trying to find him and getting him out from under the recliner
10:15 - load the car with cats and baby
10:20 - leave for the vet
10:30 - finally arrive at the vet 15 minutes late with a hungry baby, whom I proceed to breastfeed while the kitties are getting checked
11 - talk to vet, who thinks it is likely a behavioral issue, not medical, making the whole problem much more difficult. So now we get to try lots of different things to get them to stop. Fun, fun, fun...
BLAH!!!

Man, my internet was down for over a week before we left Munich (damn Germans decided to strike right before we left) and I feel like I'm totally out of touch. Anyway, we're back in the States now and I'm totally jet lagged, but happy to be home. Finn and Addi were fabulous for me on the trip home. She only fussed on take off and landing a bit and, thanks to her, I only had to sit in the crappy airline seat for about 2.5 of the 9 hours of flight. We walked around most of the rest of the time and were quite a hit with our fellow passengers. We also enjoyed looking in the mirror in the bathrooms, probably had people wondering why we were in the bathroom so much, but hey, you do what works ;-)

Now for American customs - - talk about a cluster f*ck! The inefficiency is WAY out of control there. They seem to have managed to make a bad system worse by doing silly things like not letting people talk on cell phones while waiting in line to clear customs, requiring people to take their shoes off and randomly checking by hand, etc. All of which really slow the system down, but they don't seem to have installed any really good scanning devices that would pick up important problem items. Additionally, Dulles is a really crappy airport (my first time through there) and you have to go through security again after you clear customs before you can get on another flight. It seems to me you'd connect the areas so once people were through security they'd be done, but what do I know...

Other than that things went well. Finn passed his pat down (kid you not) with flying colors and Addi displayed minimal fussiness (and minimal sleep). Then we had a lovely escort home from Brendon's folks. It was so good to see them when we got to the airport :) Now we're looking forward to introducing Addi to the rest of the family and friends. Let the fun begin.

Haha, I've just sent Brendon off to change a stinky diaper so I can blog real quick - gotta love it! We had a nice relaxing weekend here in Munich, visiting the English Garden (where Finn had a good run through the river) and trying to teach Addi to ride Finn. Brendon's decided that he's going to devise a saddle. Hmm, we'll see...
