We went to Zurich for part of the long holiday weekend and to celebrate me leaving my 20's behind. It was a mostly fun trip, if you leave out all the crying in the car and the fact that the Starbucks guys gave me a coffee latte instead of a chai latte and I realized it too late. Did I mention, I HATE coffee! Yuck! We hiked around the city on Saturday, visiting the palace, a few churches and the lake. Very picturesque views of the alps from the city. Addi instantly made friends with a few guys in the train station. Apparently the mohawks draw people together ;-)

We thought we were off to a bad trip when Addi screamed for 3.5 of the 5 hour trip to Vienna - can you tell she's not used to being in the car... But the rest of the weekend was pretty great. She was a very easy-going baby, taking in all the sights of Vienna with us, with ease, and only crying for 1 hour on the way home. Finn also enjoyed the trip and was the perfect dog, as always.

Vienna was beautiful. On Saturday we saw St. Stephan's and St. Peter's churches (and a third church we can't remember the name of ;-P ), an oompah band, the Imperial Palace, the Rathaus (city hall), the city rose garden and ate at a nice roadside cafe. Then on Sunday morning we went to the Volksprater (fun park & city park - which Finn really liked) and the Danube (Donau). We've decided that Vienna has more things closed on Sunday than Munich, which we weren't sure was possible for a city this big. Anyway, it was a great Mother's Day and birthday trip and we may not be christened into the National Lampoon's vacation bunch just yet - give us time though...

We're going to Vienna tomorrow as a Mother's Day and early bday present for me. Can't wait! Neither can Addi, Finn and Brendon. Could be our first National Lampoon's vacation as a family - hehehe...

Rain, rain go away, come again some other day...

It's rainy here and we're all very sleepy, even Finn is in no mood to be outside. So, we're trying to run errands and go on walks between rainy bouts. Makes me think, I could use a mac and some rubbers (gotta love the Brits' nicknames for rain gear ;-)

New pic of Addi attached. She's getting BIG - can't believe she'll be 3 months on Monday!

I have a new love - Activia Yogurt, Museli Flavor - I swear it tastes like cheesecake, minus the gram cracker crust. Mmmm, Yummy! Making my mouth water just thinking about it. And it's even good for me! Is it a problem that I want to eat a whole vat of it though??? Hmm...
