We had a fun first birthday party for Addi this weekend. Here are a few pics for those of you who wanted to see the cake covered baby...

HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY ADELAIDE!

Whoo-hoo. Addi and I had a very nice day for her birthday today, complete with waffles and yogurt for breakfast (two of her favorites), lots of strawberries for lunch, kitty and doggy petting, a walk outside, much book reading, calls from grandparents and daddy, cards in the mail, two naps (miracle of all miracles) and a great visit from Grandma and Grandpa Allen and Uncle Blake with a birthday present (hoppy zebra), which she liked a lot and was easy to put together. Oh, top that all off with a blow-out diaper and hosing off in the tub this evening, just to remind me that a completely easy day would be too much to ask for ;-)


Anyway, it was a great day - tomorrow doctor and shots - boo! Oh well, I suppose we'll just get to confirm that she's gained about a pound a month for the past ten months and won't be winning the heavy weight competition anytime soon.

Yep, it's true, tomorrow Addi will be a year old and she has a third tooth!  

We had a good weekend at a birthday party for Emma, one of Addi's friends, and otherwise just vegging.  Addi's been having fun coloring lately, as well as evading the post-bath diaper.  I swear she thinks a five minute chase must ensue before she has to have clothes on again.  She's an exhibitionist just like her daddy ;-)  She's also currently running around demanding "ICE".  She loves crushed ice - must be the new teeth coming in.  She also thinks it's very funny when mommy tries to read Fox-in-Socks.  That damn book tongue ties me every time (thanks uncle Derek)!

Other than that, I've applied for a few positions, but there doesn't seem to be much out there at the moment.  We're ready for Addi's birthday party this weekend and then for spring.  Bring on the gardening!
